Let's be honest with each other. Like private pillow talk honest where we share how we really feel. People have freedom of speech. And they can say whatever they want in whatever manner they want. What happened in France today with 3 armed experienced commandos seeking retribution against specific people at a sensationalist magazine is more evidence that the belief system of all Muslims seems to have a strong element of violence against people who disagree with them. Reread that line if you need. Muslims are inherently violent. Go ahead, nod your heads. There's no 'but' I'm going to throw in here.
So why not shoot up a museum? It's sure as hell gonna be more sensational. I mean just look at that image up top. That's from 1425 AD enraging Muslims for 600 years. The MET is like my 2nd home. Damn! They've got tons of racist hateful images that slander 1.6 Billion Muslims as violent terrorists who've grown from hiding in caves to hiding in cul-de-sacs waiting for some Batman like beacon to strap up and go kill off infidels at the next PTA meeting.
Pillow talk. It's safe to agree with this, I won't judge you.
In an ideal world the freedom of speech protects whatever you say. Sometimes the crap that's said to you is nasty, just like the racist illustrations these newspapers create under the guise of satire. Just like all the hateful BS many Muslims have to endure directed at them whenever some nut job extremist goes and say shoots up a newspaper half way around the world. I mean I get angry as all hell when my beliefs are ridiculed by Christians, Jews, Atheists, and gasp, other Muslims. But I'm not mentally unstable so I can see these comments for what they are......
....you're baiting me to get violent, it's a challenge....
......like a Downton Abbey Lady of the house flippantly slandering a caste of violent criminals as her carriage splashes past their camp. When they meet her challenge, that violent criminals would dare to meet arrogance with violence, the response is always the same. "Just Kidding (Satire)". I wouldn't really call that responsible, and most people figured that out in high school.
Pillow talk. Even though I'm free to say whatever I want whenever I want if I'm not careful someone is going to beat my ass. And for sure if I'm so arrogant as to challenge someone whom I genuinely believe is a terrorist, who will kill me, by insulting him repeatedly, then I should prepare myself for a knock on my door. Of course that isn't fair to the civilized man when his bluff is called. But please, don't be surprised. This is why I never joked about the mafia back in the 80's. We knew they were real, and I watched Goodfellas. This is also why no terrorists give 2 clicks from an AK about all the depictions of Prophet Muhammed at the MET. They aren't trying to provoke a violent response by calling Muslims inherently violent.
Let's be honest with ourselves. Nasty people exist. If freedom of speech means I can insult billions of people just to prove to hundreds of extremist (Christian, Muslim, Jews, Etc) hiding behind the same religion that "Hey, look how civilized I am that I can insult you because I'm free. Come be free like me." then you're as dumb as their extremists are violent. I don't invite criminals to live an honest life by trying to humiliate their mommas since they raised losers.
Instead I do things like the MET does. I talk about that very thing which is passionate to the viewer, so I can hear what they think, not so they can hear me preach how they're wrong. This issue of depicting images, especially of prophets, is a passionate one to some people. Not to me, feel free to ask me why. Challenge people to think deeper while finding common ground, not to prove yourself right. You don't have to build bridges but don't be shocked that lighting fires to prove your point might get people killed. It is exactly because we don't live in utopia that this type of "Just kidding" back pedaling is irresponsible to genuine freedom of speech. And it's exactly why I don't make fun of the mafia.
